Altar Serving
Serving at the altar allows, in a privileged way, young and old alike to draw closer to Jesus, to be open to him and to others. Â Through this ministry, the altar server journeys together with others, learning to set demanding goals and finding strength to achieve them.

Altar Servers represent a long liturgical tradition, exercising their ministry within the assembly and enhance the quality of celebration, ensuring that all requisites for the celebration are available at the appropriate moments.

Serving
Reading at Mass
Readers are delegated the task of proclaiming God’s word during the Liturgy of the Word at Mass and in other parish liturgical celebrations. From time to time, they may also be asked to guide the community in prayer through the Prayer of the Faithful.

We welcome readers from all sections of our parish both young and old, male and female, married and single, able and disabled. Adult readers should be baptised, have made First Holy Communion and Confirmation and be regularly participating in the life of the parish. Young people are especially welcome to take part in the ministry of Reader and should be encouraged to do so after they have been confirmed.

The reader’s rota is coordinated by Irene McMenimen. If you would like to register your interest to serve the community in this way, please speak to Irene or contact the Parish Office, or speak to Fr. Patrick
How to become a Catholic
If you are not a Catholic, or if you are a Catholic who has never been confirmed, the way to be received into the Church or to be confirmed is through the RCIA programme. RCIA meets at 7pm every Monday evening in term time in the Parish Hall. If you would like to join in or want more information, please contact us at:
